Consent at Fai Jai

Fai Jai Flow Fest believes in creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone to express themselves through movement and connection. Consent is at the heart of every interaction.

The F.R.I.E.S. Consent Model

• Freely Given: without pressure, force, or manipulation. Everyone can say "no" without fear of judgment.
• Reversible: consent can be withdrawn at any time.
• Informed: everyone should fully understand what they're agreeing to.
• Enthusiastic: a clear "yes" is the only consent. Silence or hesitation is not consent.
• Specific: consent to one action doesn't mean consent to all actions.

How to Practice Consent at the Festival

• Always ask before initiating physical interaction.
• Pay attention to nonverbal cues, even without a verbal "no."
• Respect boundaries and accept a decline gracefully.
• Communicate clearly during performance or partnered movement.
• Respect props as personal extensions of another artist's expression.
• Never assume openness to touch or interaction; always check in.
