Pai, Thailand
A Magical Village Nestled Among the Mountains of Northern Thailand
History of Pai
Pai is a charming town nestled in the mountains of northern Thailand. With a population of approximately 2,500 residents, Pai exudes a peaceful and laid-back atmosphere, making it a popular destination for local and international travelers.
Pai has a rich history dating back centuries, originally settled by the Shan people, an ethnic group from Myanmar. It later became part of the ancient Lanna Kingdom and experienced influences from various cultures and civilizations.
Despite its growing popularity, Pai has retained much of its original charm. Traditional hill tribe villages, such as the Karen, Hmong, and Lisu, can still be found in the surrounding hills.
